The Difference Between Working Hard And Working Smart
I am sure you have already heard this popular expression these days. Have you ever contemplate more on how to apply it to your life?
—Stop working hard. Start working smart.—
Sure, I am a great believer of this great principle right from the very start of my business and personal journey. It is one of the greatest advices out there. However, I have a problem associated with it. The problem is that we are not told specifically HOW to work smart. Stating the obvious would be worthless if the road outlined is blurry at best.
Now, the good news is: you can change that for the better. You can work hard, work smart and knows how to do it!
So what does “working smart” really mean? It is all about deliberately being aware of the right and applicable things to do so as to get more in return from every hour of effort spent.
Think hard on this. You could be working your tail off and if you’re doing the wrong stuff, you’d have nothing to show for your toils. It is just like going into a road that ends with a wall.
Imagine you have a stack full of eggs and you want to paint them all yellow for Easter. No fancy designs. You just need to turn the eggs yellow.
Of course, by “working hard” you would then paint all the eggs individually one by one.
However, there is a better way. Let us work smart by immersing them all in a can of paint with an oversize strainer.
By working smart, the eggs would already be drying. On the other hand, working hard was still scarcely making a dent on the bushel. See the difference?
Here, working smart means saving more effort and time – two elements you can spend in more productive projects or for your personal needs.
Therefore, what we are looking for is to get amazing results in all of the vital areas of your life like time, energy and money.
You can only be another legend by working smart!

A lot of people are planning and talking about how they would love the idea of making money on the internet and most likely than not they think they must come up with the next big idea in order to be successful. They have this grandest thinking that they should invent something akin to Facebook or Google.
This is the trap of “out-dreaming” and millions of people are falling into it. This is where your ideas are more in the realm of fantasy and no more of the reality. Of course, I am all for dreaming big and going for it but I believe that you don’t have to think SO big that you start to feel overwhelmed by your own ideas and consequently never begin to act on them in the first place. The Principle Of Many Rewards

Image via Wikipedia
Let us discuss today the Principle of the Rice Seed also called as the Principle of Many Rewards. This principle clearly conveys the message that harvest is generally greater than the one sowed. In other words, aside from reaping what you sow, “when you plant a rice seed by harvest time you don’t get rice seed but rice.”
That’s very obvious as it can easily be observed in nature. Years ago, my coach elaborated to me that very obvious idea. He explained, “When a farmer plant something, he don’t harvest less than or equal to what he had planted – it’s almost always more than what he sowed.”
I agree he is right. I haven’t encountered in any of my experience an individual to get fewer than what he had planted. It is always more. Ask any farmer near you and most likely he will tell you the same thing. That’s clearly obvious!
Most of success seminars will only tell you on what to do but we have to also look for applicable philosophies in order to succeed.
When I first wrote my first song, I thought I will be an instantly famous. But harvest did not immediately come unto me. I could produce a very song in around 2 to 3 days but there were times when after asking some producers, I got rejected. But I never gave up and throw the towel. Until I meet someone who has that faith in me and we ventured into production.
Honestly, it never occurred to my mind that I had to go through that process. Admittedly though, I learned so much out of the experience helping me shared the wisdom behind. It is always nice to study the psychology of people from different strata of the society.
When I was on the streets observing the way people think and their interests in life, I learned that majority of the population are surprisingly knowledgeable. On the same breathe, they told me that they don’t put what learned into practice.
Never be indolent during season for planting. Never be skeptical of sharing your knowledge and wisdom to others. Always be of help to other people. Doing these things could assure you of an abundant harvest later on.
Continue on helping other people acquired what they dream of. And whether you like or not, the day of reward and recognition is coming your way.
Based on my own experience, life has its own unique and unexpected ways to reward the giver. There is no need to ascertain how that process really works. What we should do is only to be confident that it is working that way.
Planting a rice seed does not mean harvesting a rice seed.
Very obvious!

Breaking Free From Excuses

Fear Of The Unknown
I am a solid believer that everyone has the potential to be victorious and live an abundant life. However, even though everyone has this great potential, most are not aware on how to powerfully set free this splendid prospective and at the end most are just enveloped in a mediocre and average living.
Unfortunately, almost all of us are under this category. Does desolation really love a company? I hope not because we could rise of this swamp we are in. Victory and abundant living are within our reach.
The primary reason why majority are trapped is because we have this vicious habit of self-sabotaging thus hindering us to reach our maximum potential. If you will be ask: Who wants to enjoy dearth, or be always second-rate or sadly unhealthy? I think nobody wants those to happen to them. But then, most of time their actions goes to the opposite side.
There are a lot of common excuses available like lack of time, or lack of funds to start a business or just too young or already too old to achieve something. We might not want to face it but at one time or another we are also victimizing ourselves using these popular excuses.
So why do we intentionally create these excuses? It is because these excuses help us run away or insulate us from the fear of the unknown, failure or new things. The fear of the things unknown is brought about by our avoiding things that are not recognizable. Our incapacity to truthfully predict the things to come pushes us to be afraid of change. We all love to be able to know things in advance. This is actually good for fortune tellers but not for us. We all evade failure because it sure never felt good and it could make us be seen as stupid. Regrettably, these great excuses totally kill our personal growth.
Therefore, the first step to achieve the life we want is to be always aware of our flaws. Rectification will only follow after the recognition of the things we fall short of.
The problem is that faced with what we got to do to make the changes, we create layers of excuses for yourself to stop from taking the necessary action. And then the entire cycle keeps on repeating time after time and at the end you are stuck in a mediocre life.
These four easy steps could empower us to at last kick these excuses out of the window.
1. Always subject the excuse into questioning to determine if it’s true.
2. Collect strong evidence to persuade yourself that your excuse is indeed baseless.
3. Modify your outlook on the excuse.
4. Take action right away.
Imagine a picture where life is not hounded by excuses. What are the things you can readily achieve? What are the things you really want to do but are afraid doing because your excuses are chaining you to the ground?
Do you want to begin your new exercise routine, launch an online business, create your own site or go back to school? What are your bad excuses and how much facts are really there in it?
Always be conscious of those excuses you always have and break lose from them. Unchain yourself fast and at last be in harmony with your real potential as an individual.
You can be free!

Choosing A Lovable Good Companion Dog

A Very Lovable Companion Dog
Now that you are looking for a good companion dog, maybe it is time you take a good look at some considerations before making that leap so to speak. Look at a few of the good dog breeds, pick a good selection of puppies and select the one having a character that you want.
When we talking about breed there are literally hundreds of breeds to choose from – just consider the Border Collie and the Himalayan Mastiff and the Llewellyn Setter and the Saarlooswolfhond and the English Springer Spaniel….so on and so forth.
Aside from the type of breed, look for a dog that matches your own personality and temperament. Find a dog that has the qualities you have in mind which could bond with you easily. Age is not really a concern most of the time though puppies are really cute. Some specific breeds may have a certain reputation but then expect some exceptions to the general rules. These tips can make you find a good companion dog.
Seek out a dog that has a personality that fits your own characteristics and your experience. If you have an experience handling dogs in the past, then probably you can work with a dominant and independent dog. In case you are not aggressive or are not used to working with a dog, a more submissive animal will most likely be a better one for you. When you are looking at puppies or small dogs, hold one and turn it over on its back. You can see a dominant dog because it will fight you and will try to get away from your presence. If the puppy struggles, try to relax it. If it calms down fast, then it is a submissive one. If it does not try to turn over at all, but just lies there trusting you completely, you have a very submissive dog.
A dog that is settled, quiet and requires little care is certainly much better if you are more laid back person and lead a quieter life. If you have an active life you may find a more active and hyper dog to be in command with your lifestyle. If you spend much of the day away from home and your dog would be kenneled during that time, you should look for a dog that is a little self-reliant and will not have any problem with separation anxiety.
You also will want your companion dog to be intelligent and eager to please. This will help you teach it the things that you want it to know and it will happily learn the skills and perform them. When you take your dog out in public, you don’t want a fear nipper or a dog that is a threat to children. Socialize with the dog regularly and a fast learning dog will pick up points from you in determining who is a feasible enemy and who is a friend.
Dogs can be wonderful companions with the right breed and personality. Likewise, while many think that only young dogs can be trained — this is obviously false. Many adult dogs are salvaged from shelters daily and they are trained quite conveniently. The key to getting a well behaved companion is bonding with it. When you have bonded with your dog, it will be so eager to volunteer in pleasing you. They will want to anticipate what your desires and will even try to find ways to communicate with you nicely and lovingly.
With enough attention, you and your dog can form a special form of communication and the dog can be your great companion at all time.
Didn’t I tell that the dog is man’s best friend? Oh, yeah…

Some Effective But Natural Remedies Against Depression
Just what is depression? Depression is a comparatively common psychiatric dilemma — characterized by symptoms such as miserable mood and other emotional problems, backaches, joint aches, and the diminished ability to have any pleasure in just about anything. Depression distresses around 7% to 19% of the world’s population — with more than 13 million new American adults diagnosed with depressive disorders each and every year. Major depression is accountable for more than 60% of suicides each year — primarily because only about a third of sufferers seek any medical attention.
While the precise cause of depression is under close scrutiny, there are many known helpful natural remedies for depressive disorders. The primal natural remedy is a good diet — plays a huge role in the dopamine levels in the brain. A diet that limits sweets, sugar loaded sodas, pies, sweet chocolate, doughnuts, ice cream and other foods packed with sugar can really lessen the harshness of feeling down. Though sweets can be able to temporarily increase mood by increasing blood sugar levels, once the glucose level in the blood plunges, dispositions tend to drop farther than before and cause those disposed to depression to enter more depressive periods. Thus, keeping blood sugar levels steady, major depressive moods can actually be prevented.
Avoiding coffee and other drinks like 180, Bazza High Energy Tea, Silk Soylatte as well as dart and Pennsylvania espressos that are high in caffeine can also be beneficial. The same goes for any alcoholic beverages. Caffeine and alcohol can both worsen mood – initially providing brief euphoria but followed by depression. Those with depression should focus on consuming foods that are able to trigger serotonin production like foods rich in B vitamins and magnesium. Nuts, green vegetables, and some varieties of fish can be beneficial because they can actually elicit a good mood without being followed by a state of depression.
St. John’s Wort has been used historically for treating mild depression. Although it has not been proven to be effective in severe depression cases, it has been shown to actually increase synaptic levels of biogenic amines. Various studies showed that St. John’s Wort is as effective as various prescriptive medications for depression. When used by patients diagnosed with mild depression, it can relieve many of the symptoms, included but not limited to extreme mood changes, loss of appetite, insomnia, and negative feelings.
Exercise is one of the most helpful natural remedies for depression as it can lessen some of the symptoms of depression while keeping the body in good fighting shape. Exercise increases energy and reduces the side effects of sleep loss. Exercise has been effective in treating mild to moderate depression. However, it may take longer than prescriptive medications to show good results.
A form of depression that only occurs during certain parts of the year called seasonal affective disorder can be well treated by extended exposure to brilliant artificial and natural sunlight. It is used as an alternative to medications and works by regulating the body clock. Exposure to artificial and natural sunlight can actually trigger chemical changes in the brain such as melatonin production which can increase sleeping patterns and overall mood.
Depression is a challenging condition but mild cases can easily be enhanced with the help of natural depression remedies. Prescription medication comes with various side effects and risk factors. On the other hand, natural alternatives have much lesser down sides.
Changing routine habits such as diet, exercise, and even social activities can aid to improve depressed mood and other emotional problems and other bodily symptoms hopefully helping a depressed person live a happy and normal life.
Let us all fight depression!

Three Simple Tips To Enhance Passion In A Relationship
To lose some of the original sparkle after the first dating stage is quite normal. It does not matter if your new love seems adorned with blond sheen, in a relationship it would be hard to maintain the same level of passion. As experienced by average couples, it’s all natural to face this kind of situation – even successful and long-term couples have to contend with this dilemma. However, the most important thing is that both you and your partner are aware of this stage so as to survive and lead the relationship into the next level. Based on different studies, the ones who survive this awkward stage are the couples who continuously figure out ways to infuse more passion into the relationship even before any problem crops up. Why would you let the relationship sputter and expire? You can then implement these two simple tips with the end view of imparting extra passion into the relationship.
Tip 1: Continue the dating game. Many couples are guilty of overlooking the things that attracted them to each other. Or they simply take each other for granted. Relationship never ends when the kids arrive or when career demands more time. Relationship needs to be continually nourished in order to grow. Sure, there are times when work or kids leave couples with only modest time for each other but this not a valid ground to move away from dating.
Not having quality time can pose a serious threat for couples. And this is the major factor for eventual break-up. It is imperative to keep that original fire alive by continuing to schedule dates for each other. You can schedule it once a week or even just once a month – the point is have time alone with each other. If you have kids, get a babysitter. Relationship to our wife or husband is worth more than the value of a diamond – and it would be an injustice to just let it grow sluggish and eventually die. It is always a challenge keeping the passion of the relationship alive and kicking but hey, is that not what you are for in the fist place?
Tip 2: Make love in eccentric locations. To inject more passion into your relationship, plan to take your lovemaking away from the usual bedroom from time to time. For examples, make love in another room or even just another place of your home or for more adventure in public places or any place not normally associated with doing the act. The purpose of this is to break the monotonous routine lovemaking. As routine can turn out to be boring, it is a fine idea to insert some impulsiveness to the relationship.
Go back to the time when you first met each other. Reminisce the memories when you couldn’t keep your hands away from each other. We want to reignite that kind of passion and lend the relationship a new life. Have you told your wife lately that she is still very attractive and desirable? Have you whisper to your husband that he is still the man of your dream? Each of us wants to feel like that we still have it in us – that drive to make the other partner wild with sensuality even with just a glance or a simple touch. Never forget to flirt with each other and gradually build the eagerness for lovemaking.
Tip 3: Do them. All the tips above will just be for nothing if you will just continually ignore some symptoms of a relationship on a rough ride. Relationship takes time to build but only requires minutes to break up. When you entered into a promise to love someone, it includes doing everything that you can to make the relationship works for a lifetime. It is never easy and nobody promises a magical formula. You owe it to yourself, your partner and even the kids to make the relationship as successful as it should be.
Yes, it’s very easy to plunge into a rut. There are times when we are just taking each other for granted. We could be doing similar thing over and over again – the ticket to the boredom freeway. You got to hit the gas and go around that highway if you want your relationship be a success for a lifetime. When you come to think of it, it is not really hard to terribly difficult to reinstall much needed passion into the relationship. Plus I promise you, if you implement all these tips it will be an adventure of a lifetime.
Have fun and have more passion!

Gratitude: An Antidote Against Depression
I have a friend who has a chronic mild depression starting when she was just 15 years old. Though she can be able to manage it, she is always looking for more effective ways of finally eradicating the emotionally paralyzing condition. Depression is something that wields into your inner consciousness and has the potential to wreck a person apart.
According to authoritative people working on this subject, depression can be the opposite of a state of blessed gratitude. It is a feeling of hopelessness that can be caused by inactivity, unemployment, sickness (your own or that of a loved one), hormone-caused changes, or any factor that drives the equilibrium of the mind into pessimistic territory. In other words, depression is the stark opposite of optimism.
“What a miserable thing life is: you’re living in clover; only the clover isn’t good enough.” - Bertolt Brecht ( Jungle of Cities, 1924).
Depression first suffocates and then, if not halted, goes on to completely kill positive thinking. It sends the positive attitude process sinking fast, and places the depressed person in a zombie-like daze. A depressed person slows down at work, becomes counter-productive, ignores or avoids his friends and remains in a condition of persistent dissatisfaction. Depression is not just affecting a person emotionally because your health can be negatively affected due to weak immune system. Additionally, a depressed person suffers from fatigue and keeps mistakenly imagining that he is affected by various illnesses.
You must be able to quickly recognize the onset of depression so as to be able to fight it. For a lot of sufferers, the first line of defense is the use of anti-depressant pills which give a temporary relief. On the contrary though, depression usually stems out of a negative thought process and the best way to counter it is a positive mental attitude. If you are depressed, you need to begin thinking positively. Positive thinking could serve as your buffer zone against the onslaught of depression. And one of the most effective ways that can usher in positive thought is the feeling of gratitude.
Gratitude, or thankfulness, is an appreciation of a benefit obtained. Expressing gratitude encourages a person to be embedded with positive vibes — and he begins to feel upbeat and full of vital energy. The body will be energized and get healthier. However, the big question is what to be grateful for and to whom to express our thanks.
Well, the answer to that question lies inside all of us. If we take a look at our own lives, we will surely find innumerable instances that we can be grateful for.
For the start, we can and ought to give thanks the great Creator who is wonderfully giving us a good night’s rest, for another great sunny day and for the amazing birds chirping and flying away right before our eyes. If we are healthy, we can thank nature for giving us a robust body; if we are unwell, we can thank the doctors for bringing us out of our condition. Thank life for not leaving you alone, high and dry! If we have friends to fall back on, we must thank them for just being there for us.
And there are more things to get thankful for. You will find tens of reasons to feel grateful towards the Creator, nature and towards your family and friends once you start evaluating your life. And when you discover the little things that add sparkles to your existence, humbly express your gratitude to them.
Expressed gratitude does promote positive thinking. Positive thinking in turn will drive away the darkness of depression that exploded in your mind. Gratitude could replace the fears lodged by depression and enrich your mind with good cheer. Cheerfulness can induce you to feel wonderful and hopeful.
**Make a list of least 7 things that you are thankful for at this very minute.
**Put up a reminder that you should make another list every day.
**Continue adding to your list when you are having a negative thought.
**Save your lists in a scrapbook or an album.
**Review your scrapbook when depression is about to attack you.
Depression started in our mind and we must wage a battle right in there. We deserve much better in life and depression is definitely something that could rob life away from us.
Let us all fight depression!

Great Retirement Communities You May Consider
Universally, we all want to live a long and happy life. And if we are granted with our wish, we are left to contend with the inevitability of getting old. And definitely, we have no choice but to face the problems associated with it. Not unless, of course, you die young.
Very likely you have not thought of having allodoxaphobia (fear of opinions) or arsonphobia (fear of fire), but you probably are afraid of something. An unavoidable thing that most of us fear at one time or another is getting old. Aging comes with many changes and challenges.
One of the best ways to deal with aging is getting into the right retirement community according to your needs and capability. Because of this need, I compiled together some places that you may take a look at. This list includes retirement communities from well-known to the completely unknown. But, each has unique features that might just make you go “ahh this is it!”
Danbury, Connecticut. Danbury boasts almost one and a half square miles of parks. There are several museums including the Military Museum of Southern New England and the Danbury Railway Museum. There are many opportunities for those of you who enjoy the performing and visual arts. There are also unique historical homes such as the Marian Anderson Studio and Charles Edwards Ives homes.
Charlottesville, Virginia. This is the motherland of three US presidents. And if you like history, you are in luck. Shopping is great with the Downtown Mall being one of the largest in the nation with over 150 shops and restaurants. This is the middle of wine country, so you know the climate is good. This is the home of the University of Virgina and has all the culture and social activities that represents.
Boise, Idaho. Boise has recently become the largest city in the inland Northwest. The reason is simple, it’s a great place to live. The numerous awards tell the story. Here are a few of them: No. 10 of 375 Best Places to Live – Cities Ranked & Rated, 2nd Edition, May 2007, No. 6 of 72 Major Cities for Environmental Quality – Earth Day Network, February 2007, Tree City USA and Growth Award – The National Arbor Day Foundation, February 2007, Most Secure Place to Live in the United States Among Large Metropolitan Areas – Farmers Insurance Group, December 2006, A Top Retirement Spot – Where to Retire magazine, September 2006, 4th Best City to Live, Work and Play – Kiplinger Personal Finance, May 2008. As you can see, this one is worth a second look.
Aiken, South Carolina. If horseracing is your thing, then this small town in South Carolina just might be your haven. This great place is considered to be the official Home of the Aiken Thoroughbred Racing Hall of Fame and Museum at Hopeland Gardens, it has Polo Club Sunday afternoon matches, Steeplechase and Thoroughbred racing. There are many horses raised in the area as well because of the mild climate. The Aiken Tennis Club also provides a more active sport. Many great restaurants and shopping, mountains and beaches round out the local picture. And, if that is not enough, Atlanta is a short drive away.
Saint George, Utah. Talk about great places to enjoy photography! You could probably put out your own calendar in a week. But, you can also enjoy great hiking and offroading as well as great golf. Mount Zion National Park is probably the biggest local attraction, but everywhere you look there is great scenery. The city is growing fast and has been targeted for growing retirement communities. So, you should take a look.
Hood River, Oregon. The Wind Surfing Capital of the World! That about says it all if you are a retiring sports nut. However, there is plenty more to attract you to this little known treasure in the Columbia Gorge. It is on the Oregon Cascades Birding Trail, has an annual Blossom Festival and Harvest Fest. It is close the most visited spot in Oregon – Multnomah Falls as well as Mount Hood for skiing and is on the Lewis and Clark Trail. This is also in the center of the fruit orchards of northern Oregon – providing incredible treats.
Life is indeed beautiful. And if given the chance to live up to old age, I would likely take it. By then, I would just choose the best and most appropriate retirement community for me.
Hey, who said that old age is not fun?

Child Abuse: A Society’s Scourge
A painful and demonic scourge is happening every day in our supposedly humane society. All over nations, there are millions of children who are abused physically or sexually and neglected anywhere. We could be closing our eyes on this problem but we could not deny these abused children cries for help and action.
Indeed, this is a top priority. Children of all nationalities, ages, genders and economic status are falling victims of this plague. Child abuse and neglect is an important issue that needs to be addressed squarely and eradicated at all costs.
Child abuse and child neglect are problems not determined by a person’s status or class, nor are they specifically attached to any specific era of society.
The following is the definition, given by the government, of child abuse and neglect:
“Action and or lack of needed action on the part of a parent or caregiver that causes serious mental or physical harm, sexual abuse, exploitation or death of a child.”
Child abuse or neglect occurs when the parents or caregiver fails to step in when an act or failure to act could cause injury or harm.
In this case the law is quite clear and we see in the news at night some of the horrible instances of child abuse. Not all child abuse cases are black and white. Recognizing a child abuse victim might save a life.
One thing that many people don’t realize is that child abuse can begin at the time of conception. For example, if a pregnant mother uses drugs, tobacco or consumes alcohol it can be harmful to the fetus. If mother is behaving well, then baby is at less risk
It is your duty to tell authorities of suspected child abuse. Have you ever seen an innocent child in a very dangerous situation or have you seen proof of an innocent child being physically abused? It is your human responsibility to tell someone about the neglect or abuse. There are now available hotlines for you to call and report any case of child abuse in your locality.
Please note that swatting a child as a form of discipline and child abuse may not be the same thing. However, striking a child with a belt, closed fist, or anything violent constitute child abuse and must be reported to the authorities.
No child deserves to be abused physically, mentally or sexually. Instead, children should be cared for and loved unconditionally. It is only when we can truly be responsible of our actions and genuinely practice the attributes of true love can we call ourselves as human beings. Otherwise, we are just as lowly as the dogs and cats roaming on the street.
